1. Learn the basics concerning how to prospect for gold in appropriate geographic areas.

2. Research different areas to find out where gold is located around the world. Ask your national, state or provincial geological survey website or office for information or maps.

 

3. Obtain permission before searching for gold nuggets on private lands or mining company lands.

 

4. Search for gold nuggets in places where gold has been found before. Because so much land has already been prospected, you are unlikely to discover any brand new gold deposits.
